How to Prepare for the Death of a Loved One

Here's a Novel Thought - How About Thanking the Caregiver Rather Than Criticizing

The burden of caregiving often falls on the shoulders of one of the children, even if there is a large number of offspring.    The vast majority of caregivers put there own lives on hold to assist loved ones without asking for, or receiving a simple thank you.   It can be very stressful, time consuming and does not pay anything.   They reward of helping a loved one is compensation enough.  But the added stress of those family members who do nothing but offer opinions can be annoying and most often not welcomed.  Easy solution: if you can do it better, do it.

To all the non-participatory family members who are not offering a hand:  Though it is not easy and often demanding, we care for our loved ones because we care, thus we don't expect any thank you's for our efforts. But we sure as hell don't need to hear any complaining or any level of criticism for those whose stand on the sidelines and do nothing to help.

If you think you can do things better, step up the plate and do it. Until then, be thankful that you have been able to lead a normal life while someone else has put there’s on hold to care for your parent.
